I am a fine art and portrait photographer based in the north of Scotland, though I'm in London regularly. I can be contacted through the details at the top of this page.

My work has been selected as a Portrait of Britain in 2016 and won the Three Counties Photographic Show at Keele University, also in 2016. It is exhibited at Trent Art in Newcastle-under-Lyme from which limited edition prints can be purchased.

I come to photography with a broad-based love of art and a belief that the traditional boundaries between painting, drawing and photography are breaking down. I have been influenced by a range of artistic traditions from Renaissance old masters to the 'swagger' portraits of the late C19 and early C20. I also use photogravure techniques to create traditional prints from digital images. What matters is the final picture, not the technologies which have been used to create it.

My aim is to establish a deliberately 'painterly' photographic style. For that reason I print my images on textured fine art paper, rather than on photographic paper, and I also use photogravure to create images from my work.
